Subject: Chipmunk
Last year when I came home from work I saw a chipmunk struggling in the low end of the pool, he'd just about run out of energy so was easy to get. He'd pretty much stopped moving.

I wrapped him in a small towel and cupped him in my hands, stroked his back for a few minutes. I guess his body temperature had really dropped a lot, but eventually must have returned to normal. As soon as he realized the situation he was in, he suddenly became alert and jumped out of my hands and bolted out of the yard at lightning speed! My good deed for the year, lol!

I had a very similar experience however not in a pool. Where my husband and I would go camping, as we call it here in the North, one of our neighbours left a pail of water out to catch poor critters while they were away so they wouldn't hear them running on their trailer roof!! I was so angry!! Anyway, sure enough, there was one poor little squirrel in the bucket just about out of energy and luck. We took him out, wrapped him in a blanket and held him. Well up until he ''came to'and realized what was happening. He took off but his back legs must not have had the blood in them yet because they dragged behind him. I just hope he was ok.
Which is worse: Ignorance or apathy? Who knows? Who cares?

I agree. Sure, they're cute, even when I see ''em on the golf course messing with my golf ball, but I don't know if I'd hold one. With my luck, he'd bite off half a finger.
A bad day by the pool beats a good day at work...
